Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, has been named an energy services leader by Verdantix in the analyst firm’s new Green Quadrant® UK Energy Services 2016 report.
The Verdantix Green Quadrant is a proprietary methodology designed to provide an evidence-based, objective assessment of suppliers providing comparable products or services. The UK Energy Services benchmark found Schneider Electric to be best-in-class in energy supply strategy and procurement, and data management and analytics. As a result, Verdantix positioned the company highest in the report’s Leader’s Quadrant.
“Schneider Electric has distinguished itself as an energy services supplier and scored highly across our entire report,” said Susan Clarke, senior analyst at Verdantix. “With end-to-end services that span strategy to project delivery, the company has demonstrated its ability to help customers navigate the complex energy market.”
Specifically called out in the research is Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure systems architecture, which provides a range of integrated facility- and energy-management applications. One of the applications, Resource Advisor, helps organisations see, measure and manage energy and sustainability initiatives across an enterprise. The cloud-based software allows users to make significant advancements in data collection and evaluation.
The ability to evaluate complex “generate vs. buy” scenarios and compare the cost of onsite generation against real-time utility prices also led to the Leader’s Quadrant ranking.
“As green initiatives and renewables become the norm, and commodity prices continue their downward trend, companies need specialised expertise and data analysis to develop long-term energy strategies and uncover savings,” said Philippe Diez, vice president of Energy & Sustainability Services for Schneider Electric. “Our focus is on converging strategic sourcing, efficiency and sustainability to boost customers’ return on investment in all three areas. So having this approach and our services validated by Verdantix is rewarding.”
The Green Quadrant report combines benchmark data from 18 energy services for the private and public sector. The analysis compared offerings using 86 weighted criteria grouped under the “Capabilities” and “Momentum” categories.
This report provides an overview of the U.K. energy services market, and is developed for executives and decision-makers, chief financial officers, directors of energy, facilities and real estate, and heads of procurement. It helps companies manage energy procurement and consumption in a way that reduces cost and risk, while delivering efficiencies.
Schneider Electric was also recognised as a leader in Verdantix’s Green Quadrant for Building Energy Management Software in 2014 and 2015.
