The energy crisis in Europe is arguably as critical as the COVID-19 health crisis, but not everyone is treating this near-term danger with the same level of urgency. Like in the U.S., Europe is at risk of energy insecurity, with blackouts and grid failure becoming more common, affecting the health of vulnerable populations and the continuity of business operations. As soon as this winter, Europe could be facing serious challenges that come from energy supply shortages. In this video interview, Philippe Delorme, CEO Europe Operations of Schneider Electric, speaks with EURACTIV to reinforce the urgency to increase energy resilience via European energy policy such as the FitFor55 and RePowerEU proposals.
