Richland One School District Saves $3.4M Annually with Solar Power
Richland County School District One (Richland One), a large and diverse school district in South Carolina, has an ongoing partnership with Schneider Electric to implement a sweeping slate of facility and energy system modernizations.
This initiative includes addressing deferred maintenance and upgrading critical systems across the district's 52 facilities, as well as implementing a significant solar installation. 8.7MW of rooftop and carport solar panels have been installed to reduce energy consumption at 15 district campuses by 70% on average.
The district is championing environmental sustainability while also creating considerable energy and financial benefit. By prioritizing modern facilities, Richland One has significantly reduced operational expenses and unlocked funding for future improvements.
