WWF on Science-Based Targets

Companies have and continue to set targets to contribute to global sustainability efforts. That’s nothing new. But what has changed is the thinking around how those goals are developed. There’s an increasing emphasis on aligning corporate environmental objectives with climate science. SBTs provide companies with a pathway to set goals that will help limit global warming to below 2○ Celsius. And the practice is gaining traction; more than 300 companies have committed to SBTs. How can other organizations follow suit? How do sustainability teams get buy-in from management? Alexander Liedke, Manager of Sustainable Business & Markets for WWF, explains.
