At COP26: Solar Impulse Launched Solutions Explorer

The Solar Impulse Foundation founded by Bertrand Piccard aims at boosting the adoption of profitable solutions to protect the environment. By selecting, labeling, and promoting those innovative, clean, and profitable solutions, the Foundation supports political and business decision-makers in achieving their environmental targets while simultaneously creating jobs and growth. In 2017, Bertrand Piccard set himself and the Foundation the challenge of finding at least 1000 Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions.

To search through all these solutions, the Foundation launched its Solutions Explorer at COP26. It offers a one-of-a-kind search engine that showcases climate solutions from all over the world which are part of an ever-growing curated and publicly-accessible database. Schneider supported the initiative by helping to analyze potential candidates for the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label.

Eight Schneider Electric solutions are among the more than 1,000 that have received the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label, including:

  • the Harmony wireless button, a self-powered interface that connects basic industrial equipment;
  • Altivar 312 Solar drives;
  • Altivar 600 drives;
  • EcoStruxure Microgrid Advisor
  • the NEO Network
  • the EV Link Load Management System
  • the Homaya Pay As You Go Solar Home System
  • the Villaya Microgrid solutions
