Boulder-based Renewable Choice Energy announced today that it has joined the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Business Renewables Center as a founding transaction service provider with an emphasis in power purchase agreement (PPA) brokering. The Center, which is comprised of renewable energy buyers, project developers, and service providers like Renewable Choice, will provide a collaborative opportunity for commercial entities and their partners to advance the growth of renewable energy.
Renewable Choice was founded in 2001 with the mission to bring the benefits of clean and renewable sources of energy to individuals and businesses. The company has pioneered corporate green power buying, providing renewable energy to the first large companies utilizing 100% wind power for their businesses. As renewable energy market has grown, Renewable Choice has continued to innovate by adding carbon offsets, sustainability consulting, and strategic renewable energy advisory services to its portfolio.
The company is a trusted partner to numerous major brands including more than 140 of the Fortune 500, alongside scores of green buildings, municipalities, universities, and small-to-medium enterprises. Renewable Choice was recognized in 2012 and again in 2014 by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Green Power Supplier of the Year and supplies renewable energy to more of the EPA’s Green Power Partners than any other firm.
