Schneider Electric Named the World's Most Sustainable Company – Twice

Once again, Schneider Electric received the top spot on the 2025 list of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies by TIME and Statista. This list aims to set a benchmark for other businesses and encourage the integration of sustainability into core corporate strategies.

Earlier this year, Schneider Electric was also named the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation by Corporate Knights – making the company the first to top the Global 100 index twice.

Global recognition for environmental & social stewardship

TIME and Statista began the ranking process with a pool of over 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential companies. Evaluated with rigorous methodology, the list narrowed to the top 500 companies, spread across over 30 countries.

The methodology assessed each company’s commitments to sustainability, reviewed their reporting and transparency practices, and calculated an overall sustainability score based on various environmental and social Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the companies' public corporate social responsibility reports.

Why Schneider Electric earned the top spot twice

This recognition reflects the dedication of Schneider Electric’s employees, partners, and suppliers working together to meet ambitious goals: a 25% absolute carbon reduction across our entire value chain by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program achieved a score of 7.95 out of 10, which is on track toward the year-end target of 8.80. This progress comes through supporting customers to save and avoid nearly 700 million tons of CO₂ emissions. The second Energize Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) cohort also launched, enabling four global healthcare companies to buy 245 GWh of renewable electricity annually for the next decade.

The work doesn’t stop with environmental commitments; social responsibility is a focus too. As a result of a commitment to fight poverty and support communities, 56 million people have gained access to energy to date. Over 200 local impact initiatives were started to empower communities with training and mentoring, energy resiliency, environmental action, and more.

Helping clients lead in sustainability

This commitment extends beyond our own operations. Through Schneider Electric’s sustainability consulting services, our clients around the world lead by example too. These organizations rely on our expertise of over 20 years in the sustainability business to reach net-zero emissions, buy renewable energy, and ensure compliance with all regulations.

For example, the new Terminal One at JFK recently won a regional Sustainability Impact Award for integrating advanced microgrid technology and innovative energy management solutions to build one of the most resilient airport terminals in the U.S.

Similarly, Equinix worked with our energy advisors to achieve 96% global renewable energy coverage, powering 250 of its 260 data centers with 100% renewables. This resulted in a global Sustainability Impact Award.
